BTS members RM and V discharged from military

Jungkook and Jimin of the K-pop group BTS have completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. They were discharged on Tuesday night, just a day after fellow members RM and V finished their service. Jungkook shared a photo on Instagram of himself and Jimin in uniform, with the caption “WE ARE BACK.” Jin was the first BTS member to be discharged in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October of the same year.

J-Hope reflected on his time in the military, saying, “The thoughts I had during those times have become an inseparable part of me, nurturing and shaping who I am today. Ultimately, they have influenced the stories I tell, the music I aspire to create.”

Suga is the only member who remains in service, completing his alternative service as a social service agent. He is expected to be released later this month.

While no official BTS reunion has been confirmed, fans are hopeful for the group’s return to the stage this year.

Jungkook wrote, “I promise that I’ll be back on stage with a more mature side.

I hope ARMY’s lives will always be full of laughter and happiness. I’ll miss you deeply while waiting for the day we meet again. Don’t get sick and stay healthy.

I love you.”

In South Korea, men are required to begin their 21-month military service term by their 28th birthday. The discharged BTS members have shared that their experiences during this time have deeply influenced their personal growth and artistic aspirations. Fans eagerly await more news about BTS’s future activities and a potential reunion.

The group’s agency, Hybe, has hinted at a comeback once all members complete their service.
