The hole in the center of your spaghetti spoon or ladle serves a pretty useful purpose. Do you know what it is? I’m guessing you’re thinking it’s to drain the water from the cooked pasta when it’s ready to serve. That’s certainly what I thought it was for. But as it turns out, the hole in the center of the spoon is to measure out a perfect single serving of spaghetti.
