Kaitlyn Dever joins 'The Last of Us'

The second season of “The Last of Us” kicks off with more intensity and drama. It focuses on what happens after Joel’s big choice to save Ellie at the end of Season 1. The season starts with two interesting prologues.

The first one brings in Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever. Abby is a Firefly who survived the Salt Lake City attack. She and her fellow fighters meet at the graves of their loved ones.

They plan to get back at Joel Miller, the man who caused the attack. Abby says in a scary way that they will make him pay slowly. The second prologue goes back to the last scene of Season 1.

Ellie asks Joel for the truth about why they had to quickly leave the Fireflies. Joel lies and says the Fireflies gave up on finding a cure for the fungus plague. Ellie seems to believe him, but she looks doubtful.

The story then jumps ahead five years. Joel and Ellie now live in the nice survivor town of Jackson, Wyoming.

Joel’s brother, Tommy, and his wife, Maria, run the town. Jackson is a place of hope in a world after the apocalypse. It has power, farms, and even fun things like music and dancing.

Joel helps out with his mechanic skills. Ellie trains to fight and goes on trips to find supplies and kill infected creatures near the town. Even though they seem to have a peaceful life, there is still tension between Joel and Ellie.

This hints that they have not fully dealt with what happened in the past. The early episodes will likely explore these complex relationships more. They will also bring in new characters and storylines.

As the season goes on, viewers can expect many surprises and turns. This will make the story even more intense and keep them on the edge of their seats.
