It’s not unusual for kids to have a themed birthday party. But Rachel Perman, a part-time professional photographer, offered her five-year-old twins a themed photoshoot instead — and the images quickly went viral.

Perman’s son Elijah requested an Up theme for his session — the Pixar film is the little boy’s favorite and he couldn’t wait to dress up as Russell.

Elijah also recruited his 90-year-old great grandparents, real-life love birds who are the spitting image of the movie’s characters, to be Carl and Ellie.

Her daughter Emilee requested a unicorn photoshoot, so Perman had her pose with a horse dressed as the fictional character. And the images couldn’t be cuter.

Perman posted the photos to her professional Facebook page, something she doesn’t typically do with personal photos, and they took off.

But for Perman, her twins’ fifth birthday has an extra special meaning.

“Five years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer right after my twins were born, and had fears if I would even get to see their fifth birthday,” Perman told CBS News. “My oldest was 5 at the time and I hated not knowing if I would get the same time with them that I got with her.”

After a year of illness, Perman is now in remission and she wanted to celebrate her twins’ fifth birthdays in a big way — and big is what she got. “It’s a celebration for me and them!” she said.
