Memorial Day is a time to honor those who lost their lives serving in the U.S. military. Many stores and businesses adjust their hours or close for the holiday. Walmart has confirmed its stores will be open regular hours on Memorial Day, which falls on Monday, May 26 this year.
Most Walmart locations operate daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. local time. Several grocery stores will also be open on Memorial Day.

These include Sam’s Club from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Club members, Kroger Family of Stores, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Meijer from 6 a.m. to midnight, Harris Teeter, Albertsons Banner Stores, and Giant Eagle. Many retail stores will open on May 26 as well. Ace Hardware, Best Buy from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Bass Pro Shop and Cabela’s from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., REI from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., PetSmart from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tractor Supply Company from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Belk from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Office Depot and OfficeMax from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. will all be open.
