Michael Lohan arrested for assaulting wife

Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested in Texas on Saturday for allegedly assaulting his estranged wife, Kate Major. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office charged the 64-year-old with “continuous violence against the family” and took him into custody. Major, 42, was at a doctor’s appointment when she spotted Michael in the parking lot of the building.

She filed a report with responding officers, claiming that Michael had flipped her out of a chair a few days prior, causing her pain and discomfort. A female deputy confirmed that Major had visible bruising. Michael is currently being held on a $30,000 bond.

He and Major married in 2014 but have been estranged since 2018, when Major requested full custody of their two sons, Landon and Logan.

This is not the first time the couple has had legal issues.

In 2020, Michael was arrested for alleged physical abuse. In 2024, Major posted a video on Instagram showing Michael standing in front of her car to prevent her from leaving before police arrived. She claimed that Michael needed to be admitted into a psychiatric unit, while he defended himself on Facebook, alleging that Major was intoxicated.

Representatives for both Lindsay and Michael were unavailable for comment. This incident follows a pattern of legal troubles and controversies surrounding Michael Lohan over the years. He also shares three other children – Aliana, Michael Jr., and Dakota – with his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, to whom he was married from 1985 to 2007.
