Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson’s new film “Die, My Love” has been bought by Mubi. The movie was shown for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday evening. Mubi, which shows art house films, got the rights to show the movie in the U.K., Ireland, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Latin America, India, Turkey, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and New Zealand.

The deal is said to be worth $24 million. “Die, My Love” is based on a 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz. It was co-written and directed by Lynne Ramsay, who is known for making art-house movies.

The story takes place in Montana instead of France like in the book.

Jennifer Lawrence plays a new mother dealing with postpartum depression and psychosis.

It’s being called her most ambitious role so far. Robert Pattinson plays her husband, with Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte as his parents. LaKeith Stanfield is also in the movie.

Critics have said the film is “a thoughtful look at a complex relationship and all the patience and understanding it needs.” They also said it’s “a punishing watch that pays off in the end.

The deal was made by Patrick Wachsberger’s new company 193 and CAA Media Finance. It’s an early success for Wachsberger’s business. “Die, My Love” is expected to make a big impact because of its famous cast and the good reaction it got at Cannes.

It promises to be an emotional and powerful movie for audiences around the world.
