Musk expresses regret over Trump posts

Elon Musk said he regrets some of his recent social media posts about President Donald Trump. “I regret some of my posts about President Trump last week. They went too far,” Musk posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Musk and Trump had a public falling out last week, trading insults on social media. Musk, who was once a close ally of Trump and served in his administration, criticized Trump’s tax cuts and domestic policies, calling them a “disgusting abomination.

Musk also made an unsubstantiated claim that Trump was implicated in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump responded by hinting at the possibility of terminating government contracts and subsidies awarded to Musk’s companies.

Musk regrets social media outburst

In recent days, Musk has softened his tone. He deleted some of his most inflammatory posts, including those about Epstein and Trump’s potential impeachment.

Musk also agreed with a call by billionaire investor Bill Ackman to make peace with Trump. Musk’s father, Errol, told a Russian newspaper that he believed his son had “made a mistake” by picking a fight with Trump and expected the two to reconcile eventually. The conflict between Musk and Trump has captured public attention, highlighting the volatile intersections of business, politics, and social media influence.

Tesla shares rose by 2% in premarket trading following Musk’s conciliatory remarks on X.
