Princess Curtsy

Kate stood next to Prince William, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester inside Westminster Abbey. They waited for King Charles III to arrive. As soon as Charles entered, Kate greeted him with a traditional curtsy.

She crossed one red suede heel behind the other and bent down low. Her torso stayed upright and she flashed a bright smile. Kate made the curtsy look refined and effortless.

Her dress from Catherine Walker did not wrinkle. Her fascinator stayed perfectly in place.

Princess Kate’s respectful greeting

This showcased her grace and impressive core strength. There is no official rule requiring curtsies or bows. But it is a tradition when greeting royal family members.

Even royals follow this custom with more senior members. That is why Kate, who will one day be queen, curtsies to King Charles. William also performs a slight bow when greeting his father.

With this respectful exchange, Princess Kate showed her adaptability and grace. She continued the customs that have long been a hallmark of the British royal family.
