Brenda Song recently opened up about her experiences teaching her fiancé, Macaulay Culkin, some basic life skills. In an interview, the actress shared humorous stories about their life together. Song explained that Culkin, who grew up as a child star and spent much of his youth in hotels, never learned to do typical household chores like laundry.
“He had just never really done laundry. And I was shooketh,” she said. “I’ve been doing laundry since I was a baby, I feel like.”
In addition to laundry, Song also tried teaching Culkin how to drive at the age of 44.
“I took him out to drive in our neighborhood. I was terrified,” she recalled.
Song’s humorous home life tales
“I’m like, ‘This 44-year-old man driving for the first time?’ I was like, ‘Nope! I got to hire someone to do that.'”
When asked about watching Culkin’s classic movie “Home Alone” together, Song shared that she wanted to keep her tradition of watching it during the holidays when they started dating almost eight years ago. “He hadn’t seen the movie in like a decade, and I forced him. He didn’t want to watch it.
And I was like, ‘We have to!'” she said. However, Culkin started sharing behind-the-scenes stories during the viewing. “We started watching it and then he started telling me all the behind-the-scenes stories.
I was like, ‘Stop! You’re ruining it for me! You’re ruining it!'” Song laughed. The couple, who began dating in 2017 and got engaged in 2022, share two children together. Despite the challenges of teaching Culkin some life skills, it’s clear that Song approaches it all with a sense of humor and love for her partner.
