Strickland confirms Naomi Judd shot at him

Larry Strickland, the widower of country music icon Naomi Judd, has revealed a shocking incident from their marriage. In the new Lifetime docuseries “The Judd Family: Truth Be Told,” Strickland confirmed that Judd once shot a gun at him after learning he had cheated on her. Strickland briefly mentioned the incident while discussing Judd’s 1995 TV movie, “Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge.” Based on true events, the film includes a scene where Judd’s character shoots at Strickland’s character following his affair.

“Well, it really happened, that’s all I can say,” Strickland said. “That’s all I wanna say. It happened.”

The docuseries also explores the couple’s tumultuous relationship.

Despite their passionate love, Judd and Strickland faced many challenges. In the 1980s, an unidentified woman called their Nashville home to profess her love for Strickland. Judd responded by destroying their photos and throwing his belongings out of the house.

Judd and Strickland met in 1979 and married in May 1989.

Naomi Judd’s shocking incident revealed

They remained together until Judd’s death in 2022.

Shortly after Judd’s passing, Strickland spoke to People about the difficult final days of her life. “It was extremely hard. She had several therapists she was seeing, and her energy level had gotten really low,” he said.

Strickland admitted to feeling guilty about pushing Judd too much by trying to get her to eat and exercise. “I handled her medications and had to make sure she had what she needed. I was trying every way I could.

If I had known where she was, I would’ve been much softer on her.”

Naomi Judd, a beloved figure in country music, struggled with severe depression and anxiety. She died by suicide in 2022 at the age of 76, leaving behind two daughters, Wynonna, 60, and Ashley, 57, from different relationships. Larry Strickland’s candid revelations offer a heart-wrenching glimpse into the challenges that marked much of Naomi Judd’s later life.

The story continues to resonate with fans of the late singer and her family.
