Netflix has released a teaser and first-look images for the highly anticipated second season of “Wednesday.” The supernatural horror-comedy, directed by Tim Burton, reimagines the iconic character Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Jenna Ortega. In the first season, Wednesday was expelled from eight schools in five years and enrolled at Nevermore Academy, where she investigated a series of brutal murders while uncovering long-standing family secrets. Most of the main cast returns for the new season, including Ortega, Emma Myers as Enid, and Joy Sunday as Bianca.
New additions to the cast include Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump, Morticia’s mother, as well as Billie Piper, Steve Buscemi, and a special guest appearance by Lady Gaga. On Wednesday, Season 2 of Wednesday will be released on Netflix in two parts. Part 1 premieres on August 6, 2025, while Part 2 follows on September 3, 2025.
New characters join ‘Wednesday’ season 2
Fans can look forward to more of the compelling dynamics and dark humor that made the first season a hit. The show’s creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, promise a darker and more complex journey for Wednesday as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries.
Joanna Lumley’s appearance as Hester Frump has been praised as “frighteningly good” by the creators. Wednesday’s little brother, Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez, will join her at Nevermore Academy, while their parents, Morticia and Gomez, will have a more prominent presence on campus. The new season also introduces Steve Buscemi as the new principal, Barry Dort.
With a bone-chilling supernatural mystery at its core and the return of fan-favorite characters, “Wednesday” Season 2 is set to be another thrilling installment in the series. Fans can catch the new episodes exclusively on Netflix starting August 6, 2025.
