Knicks Incident

Tracy Morgan, known for his roles in “30 Rock” and other popular shows, experienced a sudden bout of sickness while sitting courtside at last Monday night’s New York Knicks game against the Miami Heat. The incident occurred midway through the third quarter and caused a delay of over 10 minutes. In photos and videos that quickly circulated on social media, the 56-year-old Morgan can be seen holding a towel to his face as he is wheeled off in a wheelchair.

The actor and comedian, a regular at Knicks games, has a courtside seat directly next to the broadcasting table where Kenny Albert and Clyde Frazier were sitting. “First and foremost, we hope everything is good with Tracy Morgan,” Knicks forward Josh Hart told reporters after the game. “Avid, lifetime Knick fan so prayers go out to him and his health and safety.”

Despite the unexpected incident, the Knicks secured a 116-95 victory over the Heat, improving their season record to an impressive 43-24.

The team is enjoying one of the best seasons in franchise history, bolstered by significant offseason trades for Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges.

Morgan’s courtside health scare

On Tuesday morning, Morgan’s manager confirmed that the actor was doing OK.

Morgan shared a photo on Instagram from what appeared to be a hospital bed, stating that doctors had diagnosed him with food poisoning. Madison Square Garden officials have announced that Morgan will not face any disciplinary actions, expressing hopes that he is recovering well from the incident. A representative for the arena confirmed that they believe Morgan suffered a genuine medical emergency and will welcome him back when he feels better.

“We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside,” the Madison Square Garden spokesperson commented. The incident also garnered attention due to the presence of Destry Allyn Spielberg, daughter of famed director Steven Spielberg, who had a front-row seat to the memorable spectacle. Destry posted a reaction photo on her Instagram story, humorously captioning the image, “I had a great time,” capturing her moment of shock and disgust.

The Knicks return to action on Wednesday night against the Spurs in San Antonio, with high hopes for a deep playoff run in the Eastern Conference.
