Tyra Banks stunned onlookers at the Daily Front Row’s Ninth Annual Fashion L.A. Awards on Thursday night. The 51-year-old supermodel turned heads with a bold new look that left many wondering if it was really her. Banks rocked a striking makeup look that included thicker, bolder brows and shimmering silver eyeshadow.
She also wore a warm blush for a radiant glow and a light pink matte lip. Her brunette locks were kept simple and sleek in loose waves parted down the middle. For the occasion, Banks wore a dramatic dark brown ankle-length coat cinched at the waist with a belt.
Additional fabric draped off one shoulder for added flair. She paired the statement piece with brown closed-toe pumps and kept accessories to a minimum. Banks paused for a few snaps on the red carpet before hitting the stage to accept her Fashion Icon Award.
She let her fierce fashion moment speak for itself. The “America’s Next Top Model” creator has never been shy about being honest when it comes to beauty, aging, and the real secrets behind her ageless glow. In a recent interview, Banks shared her refreshing outlook on aging.
“I know sometimes people my age, they look at a younger generation and they get jealous of their youth, their vitality, and that they have so much ahead of them. But I don’t look at the younger generation and get jealous of that, because I was once that. I experienced that.
I don’t have that inside of me,” she said.

Banks revealed in 2023 that part of her youthful appearance could be attributed to one surprising factor: “extra weight.” She explained, “I do think one secret is extra weight, because I’ve not been too skinny.
I think if you’re really skinny, it will age your face. So I think a bit of juice keeps the face nice and juicy naturally. I haven’t had injections.”
Banks has been candid about her cosmetic choices as well.
“The only thing I did was my nose, and that was many years ago. I’m not anti [injections]. Maybe one day I will, but I haven’t done it yet,” she said.
Banks first came clean about her rhinoplasty in a 2018 interview and later detailed the experience in her memoir, “Perfect Is Boring.” She stated, “Natural beauty is unfair. I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching. I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery.
I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth.”
She also had a powerful message for women, telling them, “Fix it or flaunt it, I think women should be able to do both. There is a boundary line; either you’re supernatural or you live at the plastic surgeon.
It’s okay to hop back and forth over that line.”
Outside of her fashion moment, Banks has also been making headlines for a major life change: her move to Australia! During a recent guest appearance on “Today with Jenna & Friends,” the icon opened up about why she relocated her family Down Under. “So I have this ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream,” she explained. “I was going to Australia a lot because we were making a lot of our ice cream there in a big facility doing our recipes, and I just fell in love with it.”
Banks added, “So I was like, ‘I’m happy here, and they love to eat some ice cream, so are we gonna do this, family?’ And we did it!”
From breaking beauty standards to scooping ice cream in Sydney, Banks proves she’s still the ultimate trailblazer, no matter what continent (or red carpet) she’s on.
